Non ricordo il giorno in cui incontrai la Fotografia sulla mia strada, ma sono sicuro che in un modo o nell’altro essa era sempre presente.

Fu probabilmente la curiosità per il modo in cui si poteva catturare l’istante e renderlo eterno che attirò la mia attenzione. Ho sempre avuto un interesse per la storia e l'arte, quindi la fotografia mi è sembrata uno strumento formidabile. Essa permette di narrare storie ed esprimere una personale idea della realtà che si vive consegnando alla storia una testimonianza.

Attraverso la Fotografia riscriviamo la realtà, dove l’oggettività viene mediata dall’occhio, dal cuore e dalla mente di chi, dietro la macchina fotografica, osserva, scruta e qualche volta vede ciò che distrattamente sfugge.

I do not remember the day when Photography and I crossed paths, but I’m sure it was always with me, one way or another.

It was probably just sheer curiosity about the way a moment can be captured and made eternal that caught my attention. I’ve always had a keen interest in history and art – in that sense, photography seemed to be a formidable tool. Photography allows us to tell stories, expressing a personal idea of the reality we live in, by lending a story to a story.

Through photography, we are able to rewrite reality; a reality in which objectivity is mediated by the eye, heart and mind of someone who, shielded behind a camera, observes, scrutinizes, and sometimes sees things hidden by our own distraction.
